On these pages we introduce you to the concept of a chap-book and also show you some of the hundreds of chap-books we at erbacce-press have produced with a suggestion as to how you might purchase them.
Chap-books. The name derives from 'cheap-books' which would in the past have been churned out on a Gestetner machine or may even have been hand-written. Modern chap-books are more professional and the ones we produce here at erbacce-press are up to 40 pages in length with high quality full-colour covers produced on laser-jet printers; many of our chap-books are even allocated ISBN numbers so that they can be purchased at book-shops and other commercial outlets. Probably the main difference between a chap-book and a perfect-bound is that the former has no printed-spine but otherwise every chap-book produced by erbacce-press is professionally type-set, the poet's copyright is legally registered and every cover is full colour and professional.
On these pages we list some of the chap-books we have produced and if you click on the covers then an email-link to the poet will open. Most poets will have copies available for sale but in any case feel free to email them; most of them are friendly and don't eat babies or prowl the moors at night with furry-faces (though some do; that's how it is with poets)...
